Throughout the world, we’ve learned that Kim’s no angel. We’ve seen her shady moments and feuds play out on TV, and in 2022, she wore a baseball cap with the statement “Not today, Satan” which many believed was a response to Kanye West’s rants against her and her family. Meanwhile, she threw shade at West’s new wife, Bianca Censori, by posting lyrics from a 21 Savage and Drake song: “Put her Skims on, now she acting like she Kim.” Let’s look at all the other shady moments she’s instigated throughout the years.
She clapped back at Chloe Grace Moretz and Bette Middler
Kim Kardashian is no stranger to breaking the internet, and in 2016 she did so by posting a nude selfie to Twitter and Instagram. The racy shot featured the celebrity in front of a mirror with just two black censor bars covering her private bits. Chloe Grace Moretz and Bette Middler had some not-so-nice words to say, and Kim wasn’t afraid to clap back.
She told Chloe, “Let’s all welcome [Chloe Grace Moretz] to Twitter, since no one knows who she is. Your nylon cover is cute boo.” Meanwhile, she responded to Bette, Hey [Bette Midler], I know it’s past your bedtime but if you’re still up and reading this send nudes.”
She was part of Kanye’s feud with Drake
Kim will stand up for her loved ones and she wants everyone to know it. When she was still with West, she stood up for him in the midst of the musician’s feud with Drake. In 2018, she went on Twitter to address apparent threats against her husband, saying: “[Drake], never threaten my husband or our family. He paved the way for there to be a Drake.” Afterward, she tweeted all about her husband’s various accomplishments over the years. As of 2021, the rappers have ended their beef.
She had an insane fight with Kourtney on “Keeping Up With The Kardashians”
On Season 18, Kim and Kourtney had a catfight like no other, and it was all about Kourtney’s work ethic. Kim told her sister that she would never cancel a business commitment, saying, “If I were on my deathbed, I would still show up.” While berating Kourtney for her lack of accountability, Kourtney responded that her sister had a made-up narrative in her head that she didn’t take initiative and then began a physical fight with her sister. While Khloe tried to break it up, they continued.
She had beef with Taylor Swift
It all started in 2009 at the MTV VMAs, and in 2018, West released the song “Famous” with the lyrics, “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex, why? I made that b***h famous.” The video famously featured sculptures of celebs in bed together, including Swift and Kanye’s wife Kim. Obviously, the pop star was not happy and addressed it publicly at her 2016 Grammys speech, but Kim clapped back in a GQ interview, claiming that Swift gave him permission. In a KUWTK episode in 2016, she had some unsavory words to say about Taylor.
She threw shade at Adrienne Bailon in defense of her brother Rob
When Bailon interviewed for Latina magazine back in 2014, she opened up about the fact that he cheated on her and said being on KUWTK damaged her reputation. Kim went on Twitter to defend her sibling, writing, “Funny how she says being with a Kardashian hurt her career, yet the only reason she has this article is [because] she is talking about a Kardashian.” She also shared several other confrontational messages, tweeting that it was sad that people “try to kick my brother when he is down.”
She posed with her hubby’s ex
We all remember that IG pic with West’s ex Amber Rose, which was surprising because of Amber’s years-long beef with the rapper. West had even shaded Amber and her former boyfriend Wiz Khalifa on Instagram, saying, “You let a stripper trap you.” Despite this intense feud, Kim decided to ruffle her hubby’s feathers and pose for a selfie with Amber Rose.
Kim dissed Indian food
In 2012, Kim said she was grossed out by Indian food. Despite throwing this shade, she received a lot of backlash from the public and issued an apology on her blog, explaining that there was “a lot of foods” she didn’t like, including cilantro, peppers, and some Armenian foods she found “disgusting” but that it didn’t reflect her opinions on Armenians or her culture.
The FBI interviewed her as part of an investigation
Like many stars, Kim was tied to fugitive businessman Jho Low who stole billions from a Malaysian sovereign-wealth fund. He often gave stars expensive gifts in order to befriend them. Kim met Low at a Las Vegan nightclub appearance, where they became gambling friends, and he even let her keep $350,000 of his earnings on a night out. He also gave her ex Kris Humphries a $100,000 cash gift. The friendship ended when she began her relationship with Kanye because the rapper felt he “pays for friends.” Though Kim didn’t know where the businessman got his money, she apparently had no issues accepting presents from him regardless.
She was called out for cultural appropriation
Despite her shapewear line experiencing lots of success today, before there was Skims, there was Kimono. When the star revealed the name, she was accused of cultural appropriation, and design industry professional Sono Fukunishi began a petition to get Kim to change the brand name, writing, “I do not wish to share the word with an underwear brand. Kimono means ‘clothing’ in Japanese.” Kim eventually decided to change the name, explaining that the brand was about inclusivity and comfort, and she regretted making people feel uncomfortable.
