One of Hollywood’s most famous celebs, Bradley Cooper is successful and has experienced quite the acting career. He’s also considered to be a heartthrob by many people around the world. The actor has always been surrounded with rumors of romance — including whispers of a fling with co-star Lady Gaga. Here are tidbits you might not know about the life of Bradley Cooper and all the ladies he’s loved.
Humble upbringings
Born on January 5, 1975 in Philadelphia, he was always charismatic and had that star quality. Still, he’s admitted that he never stepped foot on stage during middle school or high school.
His first role
Instead, his first foray into acting was with “S.ex and the City” in 1999. After getting noticed, he attended the Actors Studio Drama School at the New School in NYC. As a student there, he didn’t realize just how far his career would take him.
Making a name for himself
After playing several roles, Cooper was gaining traction in Hollywood. In 2001, he auditioned for “Alias” and got a role, co-starring with Jennifer Garner. “Alias” was successful for six seasons, and people slowly began to recognize him thanks to his role as Will Tippin.
“Wedding Crashers” and wedding bells
At this point, Bradley Cooper was starting to become a household name. He played a supporting role in the 2005 comedy “Wedding Crashers” which only added to his growing A-lister status. But there would also be a wedding in his near future. He married fellow actor Jennifer Esposito, and while things were good for a while, they split just six months after getting married.
He called it “just something that happened” but Esposito released an autobiography, describing him as a master manipulator and saying that the relationship hit an “all-time low” within days and was over “abruptly” and “rudely” in the actress’s words.
Moving on with a blonde A-lister
This relationship didn’t get Cooper down too badly — a year after his divorce, he was seen with the glamorous Cameron Diaz. Although they claimed to just be friends, it was clear to anyone that something was going on.
That time he stopped dating actresses
The next relationship wasn’t as high-profile since Isabella Brewster, his post-Cameron bae, wasn’t an actress. She was a talent agent and they dated for about a year. This is probably due to the ability that they were able to have a more private relationship than he did with his exes. It was around this time that he starred in the movie that would make his career: “The Hangover.”
A new, post-Hangover life
Cooper was in the spotlight more after “The Hangover” experienced such immense success, and at this point the paparazzi was following him everywhere, trying to see who his next leading lady would be. There were rumors swirling that he was hooking up with Denise Richards after they were photographed at a dinner in LA, and not long after, people were whispering about him and his co-star Jennifer Aniston after “He’s Just Not That Into You.”
True Love With Bridget Jones
Although it was an unexpected romance, during Cooper’s movie Case 30 he met his new love: Renee Zellweger. With the intense eye contact between these two, they were #relationshipgoals for a lot of us. However, with such high-profile careers, maintaining a serious relationship is tough. At the time, Zellweger was one of the highest-paid actresses, but she took a hiatus from acting while dating Cooper.
On the other hand, the actor was about to land his most prominent role thus far. After starring in “Limitless” it seems that their love couldn’t handle his rapidly growing fame. They ended up calling it quits after a few years, and attest it to their different career paths although neither has spoken out about it.
An affair with his “He’s Just Not That Into You” co-star
After his time with Renee, he was seen with Olivia Wilde, who had read for a supporting role in “Limitless.” Although she didn’t get the role, there were talks that the two actors had hooked up, but nobody ever confirmed this. However, what was confirmed was his dalliance with co-star Scarlett Johansson. They didn’t confirm nor deny the couples either, leaving the public to speculate.
Becoming a ladies’ man
With so many failed relationships under his belt, it’s no surprise that he decided to play the field for a while. He was seen in public with various women — a stunning roster of supermodels and actresses. He even moved on with Jennifer Lopez, although it’s clear that she went a different direction.
He finally found “The One”
He then moved on with starlets like Zoe Saldana and Suki Waterhouse but nothing seemed to last. It was when he met supermodel Irina Shayk, whom he had a daughter with. Having a child was clearly the push Cooper needed, but although they remain happy co-parents, they also spit.
A Star Is Born
Although his personal life has always been a rollercoaster, this movie with Lady Gaga knocked things out of the park, proving Cooper as a producer, writer, director and actor in the movie. It earned him multiple Oscar noms, BAFTA awards and Grammys.
Although, his love life is certainly entertaining, his acting career has consistently grown as a performer. Today, he’s praised by fans and critics alike. With roles like “American Hustle” and “Silver Linings Playbook”, he’s been nominated for four Academy Awards.
